Marine is the oldest form of insurance, and uses terminology that differs from property and casualty it has its own separate legislation. Marine insurance IS divided into three different types:
A-Marine cargo insurance. Cargo is usually insured on a ware house (of department) to warehouse (of arrival). This type of insurance cover all kind of cargo (imported or exported) from the time the goods leave the warehouse or place of storage named in the policy, for the commencement of transit, delivery to the consignees or other final warehouse at the destination named in the policy - marine cargo insurance policy issues subject to the institute of London underwriters by one of the following form.
Also this insurance can extend to cover war and strike according to institute war clauses. B- Inland transit insurance. This insurance cover consignments against total loss, partial loss. only to road accident to the unit of transportation such as collision, over turn, sinking and / or fire. Additional cover can be added with additional premium such as: a) Loading and discharging. b) Burglary. |
